Just when you think you’ve conquered life, those pesky hormones rear their head to remind you that once a month, you ARE going to the eat the entire contents of your local Tesco Extra. ⁣
⁣
When premenstrual, it is understood that our oestrogen drops and progesterone increases which can lead to an increased appetite AND increased body dissatisfaction, often leading to the thoughts of ‘I’m SO fat, I might as well eat the whole packet of biscuits. I’m a whale!’ ⁣
⁣
I personally really struggle with an increased appetite before my period is due and have accepted that that week is reserved for maintenance calories. ⁣
⁣
At the moment, the quality of the food I eat is definitely an area that I need to work on and thought I’d give it a bash by focusing on my macros a little bit to try and reduce the amount of Oreos, hobnobs and salt and vinegar crisps I’ve eaten this past week and maybe substitute a tub of icecream for a sweet potato instead 🤣⁣

  • 🥕 Carrot Cake Fritter 🍩

This was sort of a no-brainer idea that came to me right after I baked the apple fritter from a few posts ago. Uses pretty much the same ingredients with some slight variations to give it both the spiced carrot flavor as well as more of a cream cheese note throughout the base.

Using carrots works really good and you can get away with adding a bit more than the apple due to the carrots not being as sweet and holding less water than apples do overall.

While the apple fritter recipe opted for vanilla greek yogurt, using PLAIN greek yogurt works better with this as the tartness gives more of a cream cheese flavor to the pastry.

Overall the seasonings are the same, but adding a touch of allspice really brings a little more of that spiced carrot cake note forward.

Additionally, using @CrazyWalnuts Oatmeal Cookie walnuts works extremely well on all accounts; it has a cinnamon sugar flavor that blends with the spices, adds a little oomph to the texture, and belongs in carrot cake anyways.

Making the commitment to a healthier life was the best decision I ever made. Incorporating Keto with workouts have allowed me to lose 80 lbs and actually keep it of. I needed a big breakfast so decided to experiment and see what I could come up with. Believe me when I say this was amazing! Although it seems like a massive amount of calories, it was more or less only a quarter of what my daily calorie intake goal. Don’t be put off if things seem higher than what the “norm” is...if they all fit within your goal that’s all that matters!

  • Sometimes you just need a chicken & veg soup 😌
I use dried or fresh thyme and also throw in a bay leaf during cooking.
Such a versatile soup, using just veg stock, you can throw in any vegetables sitting in your fridge/freezer. Of course you can also use chicken stock if that’s what you have. So much veg, so satisfying!

Last night’s leftovers became today’s lunch. Getting plenty of colour & texture on my plate, this one was a winner 😍 
Ingredients:
- Mixed lettuce salad mix
- Spud lite potato
- Sweet potato
- Cherry tomatoes
- Cucumber
- @brancourtsdairy lactose free cottage cheese
- @changsasianfood oriental fried noodles
- Balsamic glaze

What was the best part? The little ray of sunshine I got to enjoy my lunch outside ☀️ It’s the little things that make the biggest difference!

  • Protein Apple Pie.. a dessert that I didn’t really think I’d be able to hack.. did it though! With the help of my trusty pet swan! 😍
Oh, did I mention it’s single serve? Yaaasss no sharing!

This was just another protein packed dessert experiment that I put together yesterday. I’m having a lot of fun with these, and hopefully you guys are getting some use out of them as well! Some of them are more effort than others (lemon meringue especially) but damn, they do be tasty tho! 😍

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again.. you could just as easily have a slice of authentic apple pie and a protein shake, but where’s the fun in that? Have some fun in the kitchen!

Granted, this one doesn’t have as much protein as a few other recipes I’ve posted.. but 20g is still decent for an apple pie!

🍎🍏 Protein Apple Pie 🍏🍎
*
Crust:
*
• 20g Flour.
• 5g @myproteinau Vanilla Whey.
• 15g Butter/Butter Substitute.
• 1 Tsp Sweetener.
• 1 Tsp Cold Water.
*
Filling:
*
• 1/2 Granny Smith Apple.
• 1 Tsp Cinnamon.
• 3 Tsp Sweetener.
• 100g Apple Sauce.
• 16g @myproteinau Vanilla Whey.
• 5ml Vanilla Essence.
*
Method:
*
1. Preheat oven to 180C.
2. Mix crust ingredients in a small mixing bowl to create a dough.
3. Roll out dough and place in your desired pie dish/mould.
4. Blind Bake for 10 minutes or until slightly cooked. Remove to cool.
5. Peel and dice your apple, then steam until slightly soft.
6. Toss steamed apple in a bowl with cinnamon and 2 tsp of sweetener until properly coated.
7. In a seperate bowl, add the apple sauce, protein powder, vanilla essence and 1 tsp of sweetener. Stir to combine.
8. Pour the apple sauce mixture into your apple pie and place in oven for 6-8 minutes.

  • Protein Apple Pie.. a dessert that I didn’t really think I’d be able to hack.. did it though! With the help of my trusty pet swan! 😍

    This actually came out better than I expected! The swan, and the pie! 😂
    This was just another protein packed dessert experiment that I put together yesterday. I’m having a lot of fun with these, and hopefully you guys are getting some use out of them as well! Some of them are more effort than others (lemon meringue especially) but damn, they do be tasty tho! 😍

    I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again.. you could just as easily have a slice of authentic apple pie and a protein shake, but where’s the fun in that? Have some fun in the kitchen!

    Granted, this one doesn’t have as much protein as a few other recipes I’ve posted.. but 20g is still decent for an apple pie!

    🍎🍏 Protein Apple Pie 🍏🍎
    *
    Crust:
    *
    • 20g Flour.
    • 5g @myproteinau Vanilla Whey.
    • 15g Butter/Butter Substitute.
    • 1 Tsp Sweetener.
    • 1 Tsp Cold Water.
    *
    Filling:
    *
    • 1/2 Granny Smith Apple.
    • 1 Tsp Cinnamon.
    • 3 Tsp Sweetener.
    • 100g Apple Sauce.
    • 16g @myproteinau Vanilla Whey.
    • 5ml Vanilla Essence.
    *
    Method:
    *
    1. Preheat oven to 180C.
    2. Mix crust ingredients in a small mixing bowl to create a dough.
    3. Roll out dough and place in your desired pie dish/mould.
    4. Blind Bake for 10 minutes or until slightly cooked. Remove to cool.
    5. Peel and dice your apple, then steam until slightly soft.
    6. Toss steamed apple in a bowl with cinnamon and 2 tsp of sweetener until properly coated.
    7. In a seperate bowl, add the apple sauce, protein powder, vanilla essence and 1 tsp of sweetener. Stir to combine.
    8. Pour the apple sauce mixture into your apple pie and place in oven for 6-8 minutes.
    9. Remove from oven, top with ice cream and enjoy!

RECIPE:
- 1/4 large Kent pumpkin, cubed
- 1 sweet potato, cubed
- 3 large carrots, chopped
- 2L vegetable stock
- 1-2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp allspice
- 1 tsp salt
- cracked black pepper to taste
🧡🧡🧡
Throw all ingredients into a large pot (leave the skin on veggies for extra fibre!) and leave to simmer until veggies are soft. Then blend everything up using a stick mixer or in a blender. Keeps in the fridge for up to a week and also freezes well in portioned containers 🤙🏼 enjoy!

  • It’s a super easy, healthy and incredibly tasty meal from @ ketogalsara

This is just ground turkey that I cooked then added eggs to one side of the pan. Cooked those then mixed in steamed broccoli, peas and carrots and some sugar free orange ginger marinade. Super simple, less cleanup and delicious 🙌🏻

1)tritura tudo no mixer.
2)coloca a base numa forma com fundo amovível.

▫️7GR de cacau  em pó* ▫️30GR de aveia com whey chocolate zumub
▫️ 150ml de água ▫️100GR de queijo fresco batido 0%MG
▫️ yummy drops de chocolate * ▫️stevia a gosto ▫️2GR de agar agar

PREPARAÇÃO
-coloca a água, o queijo,a aveia e o agar-agar num tacho e leva ao lume.
- vai mexendo com um  fouet para não criar grumos (utensilio de bater os ovos)  até engrossar.
-retira do fogo,  mistura o cacau + os drops de chocolate + a stevia.
-despeja o preparado por cima da base anterior.
- põe no frigorífico para o outro dia de manhã.
-no outro dia  é so desenformar, colocar o topping (sirop zero chocolate*+ manteiga de amendoim zumub) e comer.

    ▫️BASE:
    ▫️4 bolachas com creme de chocolate s/add de açúcar #gullon
    ▫️20gr flocos de aveia #zumub
    ▫️stevia+água q.b
    1)tritura tudo no mixer.
    2)coloca a base numa forma com fundo amovível.

    ▫️RECHEIO:
    ▫️7GR de cacau em pó* ▫️30GR de aveia com whey chocolate zumub
    ▫️ 150ml de água ▫️100GR de queijo fresco batido 0%MG
    ▫️ yummy drops de chocolate * ▫️stevia a gosto ▫️2GR de agar agar

    PREPARAÇÃO
    -coloca a água, o queijo,a aveia e o agar-agar num tacho e leva ao lume.
    - vai mexendo com um fouet para não criar grumos (utensilio de bater os ovos) até engrossar.
    -retira do fogo, mistura o cacau + os drops de chocolate + a stevia.
    -despeja o preparado por cima da base anterior.
    - põe no frigorífico para o outro dia de manhã.
    -no outro dia é so desenformar, colocar o topping (sirop zero chocolate*+ manteiga de amendoim zumub) e comer.

Confidence is when you tell yourself, my opinion of myself matters more than everyone else's opinions of me, that you need to be the you that your moat happy with. I can't give you confidence, the only one that can is you. You, yes. YOU can tell yourself that you are worth it because confidence is believing in yourself and not being afraid of what others might think. Pleasing others is something we always want to do, and there is nothing wrong with that, but change yourself for you. Don't listen to all the people that try to bring you down and hurt you. Everyone struggles with it, I myself dint even have perfect confidence, there is no one way we should be. You need to be happy with yourself. There is no way to control what other people do or say but you can change how you react to it.♥

  • If you’re eating tiny pancakes with milk I feel bad for you, son. I’ve got 299 recipes, but that ain’t one.

My chocolate peanut butter granola has 6 grams of protein and just 12 grams of carbs per serving. And it’s ridiculously easy to make (there’s even a video tutorial). I put a link to this one in my story, or you can Google “masonfit granola” to see the other flavors like Butterfinger, Pumpkin Spice, and Cinnamon.

  • SPICED CARROT & PUMPKIN SOUP 🥕 4 more days until Winter hits, and this meal is going to be on repeat for the next 3 months 🥣 Nothing better than a hot soup on a cold day, especially when you’ve got some iso sourdough to accompany it 😝 •

RECIPE:
- 1/4 large Kent pumpkin, cubed
- 1 sweet potato, cubed
- 3 large carrots, chopped
- 2L vegetable stock
- 1-2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp allspice
- 1 tsp salt
- cracked black pepper to taste
🧡🧡🧡
Throw all ingredients into a large pot (leave the skin on veggies for extra fibre!) and leave to simmer until veggies are soft. Then blend everything up using a stick mixer or in a blender. Keeps in the fridge for up to a week and also freezes well in portioned containers 🤙🏼 enjoy!
