Okayyy so, im trying something out: I’m on my second week of not tracking macros, just intuitively eating my meals. I wanted to test how much control I have over what I eat. I wanted to see how I aware I am with what my food intake. My first week was going great, really great. .
Now going into my second week and I already started to get off track. My Italian cheesecake, my tiramisu, I’m just trying to finish it before it goes bad haha🥺 I need to give pieces to my family in the morning so I won’t finish it all🙃 they won’t eat it in the afternoon/evening because of the caffeine or espresso. Mind you, my dad brought home a tiramisu cake from Costco the day I made mine. So we had 2 cakes in the house, ahlala😬

Most diets fail because they have an expiration date. Raise your hand if you’ve lost weight just to immediately go back to old ways and gain it all back because you were miserable? 🙋🏽‍♀️⠀⠀⠀

This is why I don’t see health and fitness as a destination and instead as a continuous journey. The 80/20 rule (basically) states that if you’re working out and eat healthy foods 80% (or 90%😉) of the time, then the rest of the time you can allow yourself to eat things you enjoy that may not be healthy whole foods. You’re in this for life honey! ⠀⠀

HOWEVER, if you have a problem with rewarding yourself with food & it just turns into something worse, then maybe this isn’t the right option for you right now. You must work on that relationship with food/“treats/cheat meals” & understand your limits and then this way of living could be your bff 👯‍♀️⠀⠀⠀

Working hard, building healthy habits that are based on the long-term, and maintaining CONSISTENCY (the biggest factor in progress), while still enjoying some of your favorite foods in moderation, is the type of healthy lifestyle that will let you have your cake and eat it too 😉🎂🤣 Can I get an Amennnn!⠀⠀⠀

  • Some days are easier than others, some days are neon days but some days are black days. And that’s okay; it’s okay to feel sad or depressed or frustrated with the current situation.

Today is Memorial Day, which is a day to celebrate fallen heroes, but it is also a huge day for the @crossfit community. Today we normally congregate in huge numbers to do the hero WOD “Murph.” It’s one of my favorite days of the year because the whole community comes together to do this memorial WOD.

Today was very different. We did a Zoom version of “Murph” and didn’t get the opportunity to do the workout with our friends but did it alone instead. It was hard, it was ugly, it was defeating. I didn’t realize how much I leaned on the support and energy of my community to push myself during this workout.

Today was a day that it hit me hard how much I miss the “old” way of life. I miss my friends, I miss coaching classes, I miss going places and doing things, I miss LIVING. Some days are better than others but feel the way you fucking feel and keep it moving. And if you want to cry a little, cry a little. Or scream a little in the car. This sucks but we will get through it, and we will get through it more easily if we lean on each other and stick together.

  • This moment was everything 😭 but soon after I was already working towards creating another magical moment. It’s been over a year since turning pro and I want nothing more than to step on the pro stage already! I miss everything about it and sometimes I feel so afraid of getting older and still not making my mark on the scene.. we all have our anxieties and worries but I’m only going to use that to keep pushing myself. Letting go of what I can’t control is hard but now it ain’t a matter of IF I get there it’s WHEN. And just that thought is empowering.
