I love Fridays.  Not because it's the end of the week.  Weekends just bring about a different type of work. .
I love Fridays because it is a day to wear red.  To take a second and Remember Everyone Deployed.  I'm currently an Infantry Platoon Sergeant without a platoon.  I had to come home and my Platoon is still overseas doing the Lord's Work without me.  I struggle daily with feelings of guilt for not being there with them.  So I wear R.E.D. and lift underneath our Platoon Flag.

It was also Arm Farm Friday.  And Coach's plan for the day killed it as per usual. .
About a quarter of the way through the workout UPS showed up with our latest round of @allamericanroughneck

Cardio: 2-3 hikes per week
Resistance training: 6x per week
Real talk 👉 When I prep for a show I give 110% 24/7 for 16-20 weeks. I don’t cheat, I don’t slip and I don’t skip a meal, supplement, training or cardio session.  After Nationals in November I was absolutely beat physically, mentally and emotionally. I had exhausted ever last fume in my tank in order to bring the conditioned package I wanted to the national stage. I haven’t counted a calorie since November. I have missed training sessions. I have had plenty of cheat meals/days and most of all, I have enjoyed life. As a result, I am carrying more fat than I have in the past 5 years which can be a little challenging to deal with mentally. However, I also feel more energy, more strength and more overall enjoyment for life than I have felt in a long time. I only wake up 1-3x per night as opposed to 10-15, I don’t think about food 24/7, I don’t stress about squeezing in every planned training session, I don’t have a shoot or show on the calendar (which is something that hasn’t been the case for 4+ years). Sometimes you have to recognize what the body needs, embrace some uncomfortable change and let the healing and recovery take place. All that said, I feel I am in a good place to challenge and push myself appropriately again when I decide to 😬
