  • Everyday is a pancake day haha! 🥰 ⠀

INGREDIENTS⠀
🥞 190g self-raising flour⠀
🥞 2 tbsp. sugar ⠀
🥞 1 tsp. vanilla sugar ⠀
🥞 1 tsp. baking powder ⠀
🥞 1/2 tsp. salt ⠀
🥞 1 tbsp. blue spirulina @rawnice 💙⠀
🥞 350ml plant based milk (I used cashew milk)🥛⠀
🥞 oil for cooking⠀
⠀
HOW TO ⠀
🥞 Mix all dry ingredients and gradually add milk. Stir well until consistency is even. ⠀
🥞 Heat oil in a pan on a medium heat and pour around 3 tbsp. of batter. Shape it in a round form. ⠀
🥞 Cook the pancake for around 1-2 minutes until bubbles start to appear and pancake becomes golden brown, flip the pancake and cook for another minute until done. ⠀
🥞 Serve warm right after cooking with fresh berries, jam of choice, maple syrup or @sweetfreedomuk chocolate sauce 💙⠀

  • Gâteau au chocolat et haricots rouges // Recette // De la fille de @jacquesgenin 🍫💁🏻‍♀️

Perso je ne sais jamais quoi faire avec les haricots rouges, et je n’aime pas particulièrement ça. Donc quand on m’explique que je peux en faire un gâteau au chocolat sans matière grasse, sans lactose et quasiment sans sucre, je cours. Et il est parfait : chocolaté, humide et très bonne conscience. .

La veille, faire tremper 250 g d’haricots rouges dans de l’eau. Le jour même, les faire cuire et les réduire en purée au robot. Ajouter 3 œufs entiers et un jaune. 🥚 Mélanger. Ajouter 30 g de sucre complet, 20 g de cacao sans sucre et 7 g de levure chimique. .

En parallèle, faire fondre 120 g de bon chocolat au bain marie et ajouter une 1 CS d’huile de coco (ou de beurre) 🍫  Monter deux blancs en neige avec 20 g de sucre complet. .

Incorporer le chocolat fondu à la pâte d’haricots rouges. Puis incorporer les blancs en neige au mélange. .
Faire cuire 20-25 minutes au four à 180°C 🔥Comme d’hab, la lame du couteau doit ressortir bien humide 😉

💪🏻One arm dumbbell rows are a classic and belong into every training program occasionally! They seem like an easy task (“bent over and row dat thing!”) but there is actually a lot of room for severe mistakes here which is why I want to put together a comprehensive troubleshooting for you:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔥When setting yourself up for the row on the bench make sure to stabilize yourself by putting the hand that won’t row onto the edge of the bench. This will take off stress from your wrists compared to the commonly observed version where lifters just push the hands flat against the bench surface.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🙌Make sure to engage your core and avoid tilting your lower back. Keep a neutral neck and like down. When rowing the weight up make sure to retract your shoulders and engage your lats and upper back muscles. Resist the temptation to swing or jerk up the weight. Your forearms just stabilize the weight but they don’t pull! A good sign here is, if your elbows exceed your torso and aim towards the ceiling.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Perform at least 3-4 sets of the Exercise on your Pull day!

They seem like an easy task (“bent over and row dat thing!”) but there is actually a lot of room for severe mistakes here which is why I want to put together a comprehensive troubleshooting for you:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    🔥When setting yourself up for the row on the bench make sure to stabilize yourself by putting the hand that won’t row onto the edge of the bench. This will take off stress from your wrists compared to the commonly observed version where lifters just push the hands flat against the bench surface.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    🙌Make sure to engage your core and avoid tilting your lower back. Keep a neutral neck and like down. When rowing the weight up make sure to retract your shoulders and engage your lats and upper back muscles. Resist the temptation to swing or jerk up the weight. Your forearms just stabilize the weight but they don’t pull! A good sign here is, if your elbows exceed your torso and aim towards the ceiling.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    Perform at least 3-4 sets of the Exercise on your Pull day!

#isodietchallenge *Homemade Burgers*

I didn’t have any bun with my burger tonight instead I used 2 x cos lettuce leaves🥬. It was delicious 🤤 
Ingredients: (Makes 4 large Burgers)
500g Mince Beef
1 small Onion (diced)
1 Tbsp Soy Salt
Pinch Sea Salt and Pepper
1/2 Cup Wholemeal Breadcrumbs 
Handful Grated Cheese (Optional)
1 Large Egg
1/2 Tsp oil for cooking

Method: 
1. Combine all ingredients together in a bowl
2. Shape into Patties and place in the fridge for an hour
3. Preheat the oven to 190°C
4. Add the oil and patties to the pan, cook on a medium heat for 2-3 minuets on one side, turn and cook on the second side for another 2-3 minutes. Transfer to an oven tray and place in a preheated oven, cook for about 10-15 minutes making sure the patties are fully cooked. 
I topped my pattie off with some jalapeño, red onion and light mayonnaise. 
Serve and enjoy 😉

1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite sized pieces⠀

1/2 Tbsp ground cumin ⠀
sea salt and freshly ground pepper⠀
4 small sweet potatoes, peeled and diced⠀
1 tsp dried oregano⠀
2 Tbsps avocado oil, or olive oil, divided⠀
1/2 shredded red cabbage⠀
1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil ⠀
2 Tbsps apple cider vinegar⠀
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved ⠀
2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley leaves⠀

✅Directions ⠀
Preheat the oven to 400 f⠀
In a large glass bowl, toss chicken with paprika, cumin, sea salt and pepper and 1 Tablespoon of oil. Toss to combine well; set in the fridge, covered for about 30 minutes⠀
Drizzle diced sweet potatoes with 1 Tablespoon oil and sprinkle with dried oregano, and sea salt and pepper to taste.⠀
Toss gently to coat all pieces with oil.⠀

  • 🌱 I call this the “Go Big or Go Home vegan buffalo chik’n nugget sandwich” 🥪 Buttered, garlicky sourdough with @followyourheart melted vegan mozz shreds 🧀, @alphafoods chik’n nuggets coated in @thenewprimal buffalo sauce, thinly sliced tomato 🍅, guacamole 🥑, greens 🥬, and a homemade vegan ranch drippp 💧 I threw together the ranch using @oatly oat milk, @followyourheart Vegenaise, seasonings (paprika, pepper, garlic salt, parsley flakes, dill, lemon juice 🍋🧃, ACV) - 🤤 SO GOOD!!!! I lightly toasted the bread on the stove with some vegan butter 🧈 and garlic salt (trust me - it’s fire) until golden brown, then loaded both slices with @followyourheart vegan mozz and broiled in the oven on high for 2 mins 45 seconds.

Saturday mid morning stack for us today. Hubbys stack looked better than mine but forgot to take a photo. Typical of me but hey ho!🙃

Using my usual pancake recipe but doubled it so Hubby had his own. This makes 4-5 pancakes for 1 person unless you share🤷‍♀️🥞🙅‍♀️
- 40g blitzed oats HexB
- 3 tbsp of fat free yogurt
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
(I dont syn personally)
- 1 tbsp nutella spread melted to go further (4)
- 2 Kinder bons chopped (3)
- sliced banana (Free)
- Squirty cream (1) worth

Mix your blitzed oats with the yogurt, vanilla, baking powder and eggs. Once fully combined, spray your pan with frylite. I added 1 or 2 tbsp of mix at a time using my mini frying pan. Once bubbles start appearing I flipped the pancake over. Repeat this until all mix is used. Stack your pancakes and added whatever you like on top! My ulitmate go-to is biscoff (FAVE!!) and banana😋 .

Nothing easier - just cut a melon🍈 in half and carve out a little hole taking out all the seeds. Fill in with your favorite yogurt and top with fresh fruits and granola! That’s it! 💚

Today I want to talk a little bit about CALORIE DEFICITS and fat/weight loss and what's actually healthy.
.
I think most of us know by now that if you want to achieve weight loss, you have to be in a calorie deficit, i.e. eating less than the amount of energy you burn per day. This is absolutely true. But no matter what your goals are, the QUALITY of the foods that you eat matter immensely. .
And if your goal is fat loss, achieving your goal in a healthy, sustainable way matters too.
.
Going on extreme restrictive diets that limit calories rarely work. Why? Because of the way restriction makes you feel. You might feel hangry and thinking about food 24/7, tired, and depressed. .
I truly feel that no matter your starting point, a steady and conservative approach to fat loss is better than trying to lose too much very quickly, only to create unhealthy habits, such as skipping meals or not getting a well-rounded balance of macronutrients — carbs, fat, and protein.

Making sure that you're eating healthy, balanced nutrition is key, even if you're trying for a calorie deficit. For example, one of my clients started her deficit on 200 calories less per day (1800 instead of 2000), the equivalent of 1 bag of potato chips. We started by tracking her nutritional intake to the point where she learned so much about food and portions that she now eats more intuitively without having to track anymore. She checked in with me a few weeks ago and lost 20 lbs while eating delicious, nutritious foods that make her body feel good!

I'm a strong believer in eating better, not necessarily less and often swapping more nutritious foods for less nutritious ones will keep you fulller longer, and feeling great!

-2 cups tightly packed fresh dates
(measured after pitting)⁣⁣
-1/4 cup warm water⁣⁣
-1/2 cup salted peanut butter⁣⁣
-2 Tbsp vegetable oil⁣⁣
-1/3 cup cacao or unsweetened cocoa powder⁣⁣
-1/3 cup dairy-free dark chocolate chips (optional)⁣⁣
-1/2 cup walnuts ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬⁣:⁣
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (176 C) and line a standard loaf pan (or similar size pan) with parchment paper. Set aside.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Add dates to food processor & blend until small bits or a ball forms. (It may also be an issue of food processor strength if it has a hard time blending.)⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Once blended, separate the dates into chunks using a spoon. Then add hot water and blend until a sticky date paste forms. Scrape down sides as needed.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Add peanut butter, vegetable oil, and cacao powder and pulse until a sticky batter forms. It should be tacky and thick (scrape down sides as needed). Lastly add chocolate chips and walnuts (optional) and pulse to incorporate.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Transfer batter to lined loaf pan and spread into an even layer. For a smooth top, lay some parchment paper on top and use a flat-bottomed object (like a drinking glass) to press into an even layer.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Bake on the center rack for 15 minutes - the edges should be slightly dry. Remove from oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then carefully lift out of the pan using the edges of the parchment paper and let cool on a plate or cooling rack for at least 20 minutes before slicing. The longer they cool, the firmer they will become.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Enjoy warm or cooled. Store leftovers covered at room temperature up to 3 days, in the refrigerator up to 5-6 days, or in the freezer up to 1 month (let thaw before enjoying). DM for credit or removal 🧡

Bloating occasionally is actually NORMAL! 
When you eat a large meal or a meal high in fibre, most of us get a little bloated. That is totally normal – what’s not normal is having bloating which is constant, painful or associated with other conditions like chronic diarrhoea. If this sounds like you, pop to your GP for a check up.

My top 10 easy tips to reduce bloating are: smaller frequent meals, looking at the overall fibre content of your diet (too little or too much fibre can make bloating worse), chewing your food properly (honestly SO helpful!), reducing carbonated/ bubbly drinks, reducing sweeteners/ sugar alcohols/ diet products, reducing ‘windy’ types of food such as beans, cabbage & cauliflower, instead of going dairy free trial low lactose instead (this seems to help the majority of my clients without completely removing dairy). Finally try limiting alcohol, processed foods & take-aways to assist with gut health & bloating 👊🏼

Also, I think it’s important to note most women suffer from symptoms of bloating & other gut complains before or during their period which may result from hormone changes. About a week before a woman's period starts, levels of the hormone progesterone fall. Reduced levels of progesterone actually cause the uterus to shed its lining, which is what causes our menstrual bleeding. But along with this, the changes in progesterone & estrogen levels actually cause the body to retain more water & salt which makes the body's cells become swollen and this may cause bloating. So bloating just before or during your period is normal & one of the top tips I recommend to my clients for period bloating is to reduce the amount of salt consumed in the days leading up to your period.

😍Which one would you choose? 🌱

Recipe:
1 banana, mashed (~90g), 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
80g chickpea flour
55g rice flour
1/3 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
150ml soy milk (or other🌱) Sweetener of choice ➡️ Mix all ingredients. Depending on the flour you use, you might need more plant milk. Bake the pancakes in a well coated pan with a little bit of oil( optional). Serve with fillings/toppings of your choice!
