We’ve had each substitution above and enjoyed them. Cauliflower rice is a great substitute for rice if calories are a concern, and it can be a great way to add volume to your food… but we're not completely giving up regular rice.⠀

Diet culture seems to demonize these foods on the left, and we want to remind you that you can eat them if you want to.⠀

Too many people are afraid to eat rice or pasta because “simple carbs” are touted as horrible for weight loss. But that’s just not true. Will it be easier to lose weight if you give up pasta for zucchini noodles? Yeah, probably.⠀

But in this nightmare scenario, you’re also never eating any pasta, and that sounds terrible. If you love pasta, you should allow yourself to have it sometimes. It doesn’t need to be every single day, but you don’t need to sacrifice every meal you eat.⠀

Look, if you love the foods on the right, more power to you. They’re all very healthy options. ⠀
But if you’re forcing yourself to eat them because you think you CAN’T have those foods on the left, you have been seriously misled.⠀

  • Desde las 5:30 trabajando y muy contento, porque trabajar sabiendo que eso hará que nuevas vidas sean salvadas, es lo que más me hace feliz.

Espero daros noticias muy pronto de la llegada de nuevos habitantes, pero para eso necesitamos hacer mejoras y habilitar nuevos espacios.

Lo que nos retrasa siempre nuestro trabajo es la ausencia de cobertura con los móviles, y la única compañía que por algún sitio se pilla alguna rallita, es con movistar y no nos hacen caso para mejorarla. En la era de la comunicación y nosotros estamos incomunicados porque ni el ayuntamiento ni nadie se preocupa de ayudarnos en eso, solo con un internet pésimo que va por satélite y que en días de lluvia es casi nulo. 🔻

  • Have you all had celery root salad before? I’ve always loved the one from Pacific Market but never actually knew what it was. Well I YouTubed how to make it, bought a celery root (funny looking thing which does not look appetizing lol) and decided to give it a go. It turned out perfect! I just need to get a mandolin because hand slicing that whole thing wasn’t very fun. •

  • We went to dinner tonight (phase 2) dining at Saltgrass steakhouse and didn't take photos...just had plain ribeye with plain green beans...it was wonderful...but here is today's lunch...snack plate of beef summer sausage, pepper jack cheese slices, pickled jalapenos and pecans with a lil ranch......and then Sunday night for Dinner we did a simple cauli rice with baked cod....low carb meals are satisfying and can be made easy.....💋💋💋 #Dinner #lowsugar #lowcarb #atkins #keto #ketosis #protein #veggies #cheese #yum #lowcarblifestyle #MomLife #TexasMom

  • Recently, Cajun sauce is taking over the internet - people are missing trips to BBQ nation where Cajun potatoes are quite a thing. I wanted to make the same but obviously with a low carb option. So here I am - Roasted Cauliflower with a Cajun sauce. Super delicious and easy to make.

Recipe:
Cauliflower roast:
500gm cauliflower (bit size)
Curry powder (or any spice mix you like)
G&G paste (1 tbsp)
Salt
Olive oil

Mix everything and bake at 450F for 25 mins.

For the sauce:
You can use Cajun spice if you have it at home but if not:
1 tsp Onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp chili flakes
1 tsp cayenne or kashmiri mirch powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
1tsp dry herbs
Salt & pepper

Mix all powder with 1/2 cup of mayo. Done!

Serve as shown!

  • I was making a quiche but I whisked up too many eggs so I made a frittata too 😂 Ingredients: 2 eggs, 3/4 cup half and half, salt, onion powder, and pepper to taste - diced veggies: 1 dried shiitake mushroom soaked in water for a few hours and grit removed, 1/4 yellow bell pepper, 1/6 large white onion, 5-6 jarred (in water) artichoke hearts, 2 tbsp frozen spinach heated up in a microwave, 1/4 jalapeño - 1 individual sized blind baked pie crust (see my rainier cherry tart post for pie crust instructions) and cheeses of choice I used a Mexican shredded cheese mix including Monterey Jack and cheddar and I also used some mozzarella Recipe: 1) whisk together eggs, half and half, salt, pepper and onion powder until combined and set aside 2) For the quiche place spinach, artichokes, and mozzarella into the pie crust and pour in half the egg mixture as sprinkle a layer of cheese on top 3) for the frittata heat up some olive oil and add the bell peppers, onion, jalapeño, and mushroom and cook until softened about 10 minutes 4) place the veggies mixture into a cast iron skillet and pour the rest of the egg mixture in and sprinkle on a layer of cheese 5) bake the quiche at 350 for 30-40 minutes and bake the frittata for 20-25 6) broil both for a couple of minutes until browned on top 6) let cool for 15-20 minutes and serve warm! #yum #food #foodie #instachef #foodporn #foodphotography #foodstagram #foodgasm #foodiesofinstagram #picoftheday #instagood #foodlover #delicious #eggs #frittata #quiche #veggies #cheesy #vegetarian #indianfoodie

So, tonight's dinner is quite light. Sliced cucumbers, lightly pickled radish, sweet shiitake, and Inari skins over the sushi rice with soy and wasabi. ⁣maybe we can call it veggie chirashi?⁣

We had only so little food left in the fridge, but there was so much spinach. What I was craving was creamy, cheesy stuff. So, creamed spinach was a perfect thing to make tonight except the fact that it would not go well with sushi rice.😆😆. However, it was not bad at all 🤭🤭 in fact, I went for another bowl of it. Hehe⁣⁣

そもそもクリームドほうれん草って何や?ですよね。 どんぶりの隣にいてる、気を抜いて見たら、白和えに見えちゃうやつです😆 creamed spinachは湯煎したベビースピナッチを冷水でしめて、炒めたにんにく、炒めた玉ねぎ、バター、チーズやクリームで和えたものです😁私はバターの代わりにオリーブオイル、クリームの代わりに牛乳と小麦粉でルーを作って作ったんですが、めちゃおいしかったです。ほうれん草のグラタンにクリームチーズを混ぜたような感じ?結構な量のベビースピナッチ使うので大量消費にはもってこいですよ🤭⁣ ⁣⁣

We easily forget that mental health is just as, if not more, important.

Without a healthy mind, we have nothing.

With a healthy mind we are whole, we are strong, we are vibrant, and we are the truest versions of ourselves —capable of changing the world and making it a better place.

As someone who has struggled with anxiety, OCD, and an eating disorder, I’ve determined that nothing is more important to me than my mental health and that nothing ever will be.

So, as mental health awareness month comes to a close, I want to express my gratitude for all the people who had the courage to share their stories because it has inspired me to do the same.

I also want to acknowledge the crisis at hand in our country as it ties so well into the topic of mental health. I’d like to encourage learning, supporting, respecting, and being kind always, but especially now and especially for those who are hurting the most.

In our current world, where mental health is as fragile as ever, I choose to share my story, continue the conversation, and stand with others, no matter who they are, so that they know they are never alone.

Save waste by re-growing your carrots scraps on your kitchen window.

Just cut the top of the carrots, and put them in a plate with a little water.

Keep them near the window so they receive light. Change the water every day to avoid bad odours.

After a few days, you will see the leaf growing from the carrot top!

When the tops eventually sprout shoots, plant them in soil and you will get a lovely plant 🌿🌿
