Guys. Finally on a Sunday I made it a plan and meal prepped for the week! Chicken, only some brown rice, veggies, spaghetti squash, and salads! I’ve been struggling with meal prepping and eating better, and finally I did it today! I was super motivated today, and I was able to get a lot accomplished. I can tell working out on the regular that I am able to get so much more done around the house and out in the yard. I have to say I am pretty proud of myself. I may not be where I want to be, but this is the longest I have ever committed to my gym goals. It’s been almost four solid months, and we have stayed hitting the gym at least three to four times a week. And tons of weeks we have gone even five days a week. It’s commitment, it’s a drive and it’s pushing yourself more everyday to keep going, keep pushing and keep getting closer to your goals. I seriously never thought I would be still hitting the gym this long after we decided to start going. We have changed already in so many ways inside, and out. It’s helped us focus on ourselves and what we want. I am proud of us. Even with cheat days, vacations and just life getting in the way, we keep coming back. After almost 5 weeks in, I’m starting to feel so much better overall. This is the first picture I’ve taken of my body in 5 weeks that I haven’t been ashamed of. Especially while at the gym. This is after 5 weeks of dedication and this is the longest amount of time Ive stuck to the gym. I have Nikki to thank for that, by now I usually make excuses and whine and decide not to keep at it even after I feel like I haven’t seen any results. The age old story. About how my relationship with my body has never been good enough. In high school I was overweight and not one of the popular kids. Right out of high school I went into a major depression and due to that and not eating since I didn’t care about life in itself, I dropped 50 lbs. it wasn’t in any healthy way. I wasn’t working out, eating, or anything. I completely gave up on everything and my body paid for it.
Once I started therapy and medication I found myself happy again, and now thin! So of course I lived it up, I was loving being skinny for the first time in my life. But of course....I never thought I was skinny enough, and I still saw myself as the fat girl.
When I look back now, I regret feeling this way, because I truly was the tiniest I’ve ever been.
After a few years of keeping the weight off and even getting skinnier (which now I know was from stress and depression once again), the weight stared to creep back up. And that brings me to the past 1-2 years of my life. I have slowly gained all the weight plus more back from when I lost it all.
I kept thinking I could just drop it again, no problem right?! No. I found that age caught up with me and there was no way my 25 year old body was going to drop pounds like my 18 year old body did.
I hated working out. Ask anyone, I just don’t do that.
Last November I started the Keto diet...while I was feeling good and lost 16 pounds from it in a short time, birthdays and events started and I didn’t stick to it. And now it’s July.
I started a new job, and the same day, I started hitting the gym with my best friend, old roommate, ex coworker- Nikki. Her and I have known each other for 7 years now...and we have both had our moments with our bodies.
Through motivation and determination, we decided to get fit. Eat healthy and go on this journey to kicking ass together. This page is not only for motivation, and to maybe help others. But also for us to see the journey we are embarking on as we start hitting the gym like we never have before.

I can't put into words how proud I am of the hard work the participants put in during my last challenge group. The pressure people put on themselves this time of year can add so much stress and make you feel you don't have time for yourself, but these men and women in this group have defeated the odds. They put in work and saw the results of their labor. They made time! They have families to care for, worked their long work days (some 12 and 14hr shifts), and still managed to get it done! It's a state of mind! I don't promise any kind of results in these groups, because the results honestly depend on you! You put in the work, results will follow! Thank you to all that participated, and all of the feedback I have received! I absolutely love doing this! You guys keep me going on my own personal journey!
