  • What a meal could look like for me πŸ₯—... a beautiful bowl of mix n match! I try to include an abundance of good quality fats, veg, protein & complex carbohydrates like sweet potato, pumpkin or rice. However above all, I choose food based on how I FEEL and what my body is telling me. I’m constantly tuning in and listening to its messages. Below are a few things I do before & in between meals to stay connected to how I feel & ultimately choose what to put in my mouth: . πŸ‘‰πŸ» CONSCIOUS BREATHING. Making an effort to simply take deep belly breaths regularly (especially as I sit down for a meal) and also practice breath work before meditating. This can include box breathing, alternate nostril breathing or lions breath! . πŸ‘‰πŸ» MEDITATION. I aim to sit twice a day, 20mins each session. I practice Vedic meditation where I repeat a mantra softly until I forget it. This has probably been the most transformative element to my health journey to date. Not only do I feel more calm in chaotic situations, but I am certainly more connected to my body & know when I need to either pull back or push further. . πŸ‘‰πŸ» HYDRATION. I drink filtered water in between meals and aim for about 2L each day, depending on my activity levels. This keeps my organs & body functioning efficiently & helps to prevent unnecessary cravings or hunger cues. . πŸ‘‰πŸ» DAILY MOVEMENT. Non-negotiable. We all know it. Move your body daily in ways that you love and your body will thank you for it. A 10min walk around the block is better than nothing at all. . πŸ‘‰πŸ» CHEW CHEW CHEW! I should also mention that while I’m eating, I chew a lot and put my fork down between meals! This gives my body time to efficiently digest the food and absorb vital nutrients. Chewing food at this meal will in fact have an impact on how you choose your next meal!

  • Dom has been dropping his day nap recently but today he went down πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ». All parents know how precious that day nap is! So I put down the laptop, did a 20min @body_byfinch yoga flow, then dived in to my @sunlighten.au infrared sauna which we have on the balcony. . Probably one of the best investments I’ve made for my health at home... infrared saunas can provide the body with a stack of beautiful benefits.   • Omg you gotta make this it’s heaven. If you do tag me in your posts! Adding this to the @body_byfinch snacks menu soon. For now, recipe below! πŸ‘‡πŸ» . 1/2 cup cacao powder 1/2 cup coconut oil 1/2 cup rice malt syrup (or raw honey) 2 scoops @kissedearth Brilliance unflavoured collagen  1 tsp vanilla essence 1/2 cup Macadamia nuts as topping (can use any nuts or dried fruit) . 1. Line baking tray with paper. 2. Place all ingredients except nuts into a saucepan on low heat & stir until coconut oil has melted, and all ingredients are mixed well. 3. Pour chocolate mix onto tray & top with macadamia nuts. 4. Place in freezer for 30mins, or fridge for 2hrs to set. Break apart and enjoy! . Keep in fridge for up to a week, or freezer for longer! . www.kissedearth.com

  • While things are getting back to β€˜normal’ somewhat I don’t want much to change for us moving forward! . The more grounded and homely approach we’ve had over the last few months has been incredibly rejuvenating for me. Yes there’s been an increase in work and home-schooling duties, but for someone who’s used to being on a plane each week and so social, I’ve found this to be a serious recharge and attitude shift. . I’ve had more consistent and meaningful conversations with my friends and family (albeit via FaceTime), cooked almost every meal from scratch, moved my body mindfully each day, paid more attention to the abundance of love in our home and created new experiences with the kids. . Not ready to leave! What do you think? What’s been your favourite part about ISO?
