Lombok’s best waterfall! - It might not be obvious from the video but this waterfall was hit hard by the earthquake here in 2018. All of the rocks and riverbed have shifted completely and the path to the waterfall was mostly destroyed. As a result, the waterfall now sees less tourists and when we visited we had it entirely to ourselves for the day. Luckily for us, the rubble has been mostly cleared and the path to access it wasn’t too difficult. You can find Tiu Kelep in the north of Lombok, near the base of Mount Rinjani. We stayed in the small town of Senaru and hiked up to this breathtaking sight first thing in the morning. 🗺: Tiu Kelep Waterfall
Caught this guy throwing a leg over and doing the hanky panky on my recent trip to the Galapagos. Any lesser animal would have been turtally mortified after getting caught in the act, but this rockstar held strong and finished up despite the gathering crowd. What a champ! Really doing his part for the species.🐢 You can check out the whole spectacle in my Galapagos episode, (if you’re into that kind of thing). Link is in my bio!
Galapagos film is live on my YouTube! 🎞 - Ever since I first heard about the Galápagos Islands as a kid I knew I had to visit. The thought of swimming amongst hammerheads and sea lions in one of the most rich marine ecosystems on the planet was enough to make my head want to explode 🤯.. Flash forward a few years and thanks to @contiki I was able to make it happen. The beauty and uniqueness of the Galápagos are a very hard thing to capture with a camera but I gave it a shot with this latest piece. Check out the full video, linked in my bio. Hope everyone’s staying safe and well! Enjoy the video, hopefully it convinces a few of you to add it to your bucket list.
I have grown up in love with the ocean. Its role in my life has shaped who I am as a person and the way I see the world. Which is why it saddens me so much to see the overwhelming reality of plastic pollution. Around 12 million tonnes of plastic enter the ocean each year and the worst part is none of this plastic will break down anytime soon, so it will impact and kill generations of wildlife for decades to come. I shot this video across 3 countries and over 5 months in collaboration with @seven.cs Swimwear. They are doing their part by switching all of their swimwear to be made from recycled plastic bottles. Not only reducing their impact on the oceans but providing a new purpose for unused recycled plastic. The plastic problem can seem like an overwhelming one but by just focussing on our own personal plastic consumption and how we each individually contribute to the problem, making a difference doesn’t feel like such a daunting task. Even the smallest shift in the way we think can make all the difference! #saveourseas #fortheoceans #oceanpollution #savethereef #endplasticpollution #theplasticproblem
There’s no animal in the world that commands as much respect as the the killer whale! These guys are amazing to see in the wild and one encounter with them puts you in awe. This particular pod has just been spotted with a new calf, hope to see this little guy out in the ocean again sometime soon! 🌊
Swipe left! 👈🏻 Which one is your favorite? - Spent the last 2 weeks exploring the country that started it all 3 years ago. Indonesia was the first country I ever backpacked in and I instantly fell in love with it. It offers the perfect combination of people, culture and beautiful landmarks. These 5 spots are just a few of the places I got to see for the first time on this last trip. They are all epic in their own way, have a watch and let me know which one is your favorite. - ▫️Diamond Beach ▫️Blue Lagoon ▫️Nungnung Waterfall ▫️Broken Beach ▫️Tegalalang w/ @simplysantos
Disclaimer: I’m terrified of heights. But this moment in Ecuador was an absolute highlight for me. When our guide told me to walk out and hang over this cliff I thought surely he was kidding. Next thing I know, I was jumping into a free fall down this huge waterfall. Scary as hell, but It’s moments like these where I feel most alive. - This video is part of a larger highlight video from my time in Ecuador 🇪🇨. I think it’s some of my best work, so if you jump over to the link in my bio and give it a watch I’d really appreciate it! - 📸: @simplysantos 🗺: @contiki
Jumping into 2020 with a bang 💦 - So happy to have nearly all my travel plans lined up for the next year. I’m heading back to Bali this week, followed by Thailand 🇹🇭 > Cambodia 🇰🇭 > Laos 🇱🇦 & Vietnam 🇻🇳. - Lots of firsts on the horizon as well, I’ll be spending some time in the Middle East and ending the year in Africa 🌍! Needless to say, I’m super pumped right now. 2020 might just be the best one yet!
I knew I would find a lot of things I hadn’t seen before in Galapagos but I didn’t expect to find mermaids 🧜🏻♀️ - How cool is this little waterhole that @karen_galapagos showed us on one of our mornings in the Galapagos. We woke up early and managed to be the first ones to this epic spot. - Just wrapped up this awesome trip with @contiki through Ecuador, you can expect to see a lot of animal photos and videos coming your way! 🦎🦩🐢
Pailón del Diablo, Ecuador 🇪🇨👹 - Sometimes the moments with the greatest risk produce the greatest reward. Flying the drone between two canyons and out of site was a little nerve racking but I ended up capturing one of my favorite drone shots ever. I’ve been thinking about getting into FPV to take these shots to the next level. Does anyone follow any good FPV accounts? 🚁 - 📍: Pailón del Diablo, Ecuador 🗺: @contiki
I’ve wanted to visit Ecuador to see the Galápagos Islands ever since I was a kid. Now that I’m here, I’m in absolute awe of this country. Ecuador has so many unique sights and attractions to offer, which is actually why I believe it will be one of the fastest growing tourism destination of the next 5 years. - Swipe left to see just one of the awesome spots that we visited... wait for the reveal 💦 - Check out my stories to see the full details and itinerary of this @contiki trip. Mt. Ijen Volcano is breathtaking in more ways than one 🌋☠️ - Sunrise over the largest ‘highly acidic’ lake in the world was one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen in Indonesia. We hiked up in the middle of the night to make it to the crater in time to see the ‘famous’ blue flame. It was a grueling hike and when the sulphur clouds rolled through the valley it made navigating near impossible, with the sulphur clouds burning the eyes and lungs. - But what hit me hardest about the whole experience was getting to see and meet the miners that collect sulfur from this volcano. (Swipe right for a photo) ⛏ They hike up early in the morning and work under horrendous conditions, carrying up to 100kg on their shoulders while using wet cloths to shield themselves from toxic sulfur gas. I can tell you first hand how strenuous climbing out of the valley is and after trying to lift one of the baskets they carry I am honestly not sure how a human could be physically capable of doing what they do. And they do all of this for minimum wage (about $8 a day). - #wonderfulindonesia #banyuwangi @indtravel - I’ve decided document what these miners go through in a video coming soon 🎥. - 📸: @locklangilbert
New Banda Video is up. Link is in my Bio! 🎥 - The Banda Islands have one of the most interesting histories in all of Indonesia. Once considered the most valuable real estate in the world, this place plays a special part in history. 🏰 Watch the full video to learn how this remote Indonesian island was once traded for Manhattan. (Link is in my bio or story)👍🏻
That feeling of stoke when you find your own waterfall 🌿 - Our 2 months in Lombok is coming to a close... but excited to be heading over to Bali next! Anyone going to be there in the next month? - 📸: @simplysantos - #wonderfulindonesia #mandalika #lombok @indtravel
A collection of my favorite shots taken during my time scuba diving here with @bluemarlindivekutalombok . These guys are pioneering the diving of East Lombok and quickly putting it on the map as some of the best macro diving in Indonesia. Here’s a glimpse into the weird and wonderful underwater world that keeps on drawing me back for more. w/ @indtravel #scubadiving #indonesia #underwatermacro #scuba #uwphotography #wonderfulindonesia #mandalika #lombok
Another cracking sunset here in Lombok 🌅👌🏻 . After a few months out at sea we’ve switched out the boat for land and moved into this awesome villa in Kuta, Lombok. . Due to the number of questions we get about how we can afford to do what we do and travel all the time w’ve decided to make an entire YouTube/IGTV Series where we track EVERYTHING we spend while living in a place for 1 MONTH, along with some ways we could have saved money along with some tips & tricks. (Including how we managed to get this AirBnB for 60% off) . The idea of the videos isn’t necessarily to try and live a certain way, but to be as transparent and helpful with you all on the cost of living overseas and show just how surprisingly cheap it can be! . We already have the first few months planned out (Kuta, Canggu, Bali... Cape Town, Thailand) but are looking for more suggestions! . Let us know where you think we should live for a month. If you could live anywhere where would you choose? 🌎 - - #wonderfulindonesia #mandalika #lombok @indtravel
